Smallville, for those of you that are unaware, is the story of Superman, but with a twist. The show started about 8 years ago, and has been covering the story of Clark Kent and his life, beginning in high school, when the only power he was aware of was strength. Through the seasons we have seen him grow into a man, not quite the man of steel yet, but getting closer every episode.
Smallville is a phenomena that seemingly can not be stopped, much like superman himself. It is the only television show that the 2 of us will drop everything and anything for, just to stay home and watch. Every Thursday, we plop ourselves in front of the tv, turn on the stereo, black out the room, and pretend we are at the movies. I know it sounds nuts, that a tv series can make someone drop everything else just to watch, but Smallville has got to be one of the best written shows of all time, and if it brings 2 people together for some common entertainment, then let us be nuts!
Why am I telling you this?, because I am often asked why we never go out on Thursday nights, and this is why. If you have never seen this show before, catch it on Thursday nights (in this area) on the CW or on DIRECTV Awards sattelite television.
